Hailing from Arkansas, Deas Vail–Wes Blaylock – Vocals, Keys, Laura Blaylock – Keys, Synth, Wes Saunders – Drums, Andy Moore- Guitar and Justin Froning- Bass are looking forward to their self titled CD release, produced by Relient K guitarist and Mono Vs Stereo A&R Matthew Hoopes. Release to street on October 11 on Mono vs Stereo with distribution through Sony Red, CD to be available at all retail and online outlets and vinyl available at select outlets.
Premiering today is www.freedeasvail.com a site dedicated to music fan involvement and appreciation where anybody that posts on Twitter about the band or ‘Likes” on Facebook can download the new track “Wake Up and Sleep” for FREE.
As the follow-up to Deas Vail’s last CD Birds & Cages the new release is 12 anthemic songs that rise with restless urgency and fervent optimism, underneath the soaring arrangements is a singer/songwriter album at heart with sweeping melodies, textured layers of guitars and keyboards, and of course in Wes’ passionate, wailing vocals and beautifully poetic songwriting.

To get an idea of their sound check the song below. Deas Vail is a good mix of indie rock, with comparisons to Eisley.
Relient K’s, K is for Karaoke EP is out today on Mono vs Stereo. The EP was produced by Mark Lee Townsend and Matthew Thiessen and can be purchased on Warped Tour and online. The band is also set to release a full length covers album on October 4 both in stores and online.
“The album’s most halcyon moments are a too-good-to-be-true version of “Doctor Worm” and a can’t miss version of “Surf Wax America.” Long-time fans will certainly find this enjoyable, and somewhere, most likely on Twitter, John Flansburg and John Linnell are writing thank you notes to Thiessen, Hoopes and the clan. They Might Be Giants have never sounded better” – Absolute Punk

Relient K is doing a covers album, and I can see why. Matt just got done working on the new Owl City record and finished up co-producing Run Kid Run, so the next thing is Relient K? But writing for a new record takes a lot of time and so what’s the next best thing? A covers EP. Makes sense. The band has been around long enough to where they can get away with doing a covers album. The band also recently announced the track listing for the new EP and while some tracks had me smiling others kinda fell flat. I will be interested in seeing what these songs sound like. The songs I am looking forward to the most are Weezer, Gnarls Barkley, and Tears for Fears. The EP will come out June 28th digitally and will also be available at Warped Tour. The full album will be in stores October 4th.
Track Listing
01) Girls Just Want to Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper)
02) Here Comes My Girl (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers)
03) Baby (Justin Bieber)
04) Doctor Worm (They Might Be Giants)
05) Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
06) Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears)
07) Surf Wax America (Weezer)
